Virginia Sandler was born in St. Louis, Missouri and lives in Los Angeles. She has been painting for much of her adult life. She takes inspiration from her many travels as well as the natural world. The influence of diverse cultures is evident in her paintings and mixed media work, as is the power of nature and the landscape. Her materials include paper, canvas, charcoal, pastels, found materials and recycled paintings. Virginia is guided by the process of art-making as it unfolds within her studio. It is this organic evolution of her pieces that dictates their development, and not a preconceived notion of what her work will be.
